Barwon Health Immunisation Service
Barwon Health Immunisation Service, working under contract for the City of Greater Geelong, provides immunisation services to all residents in the Greater Geelong region. The service provides all vaccines on the National Immunisation Program Schedule including infant, pre-schooler, secondary students and adult vaccines.
Due to COVID-19 (coronavirus) and the need to keep our community safe, there has been changes to our normal sessions and venues. Please do not attend the sessions if you or your child is unwell, has been overseas in the last 14 days or has a temperature. Only one care-giver should attend with a client and no extra siblings if possible.
⚠️ Flu vaccine availability
Barwon Health Immunisation Service now have flu vaccines for all clients.
Free government stock is available for clients who are over 65 years of age, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people of any age, and people with predisposing medical risk factors (including pregnant women).
Paid flu vaccines for all other clients are available at a cost of $25. Please call 4215 7028 to make an appointment.

If you or your family have travelled overseas in the last 14 days or been in close contact with a confirmed case of Coronavirus in the last two weeks, or are currently unwell with fever and/or cold like symptoms, please do not attend. Due to physical distancing measures, there is a limit of one support person per client whner attending appointments.
New babies
Please note babies are now due for their first vaccinations at six weeks of age. If you require further information prior to this please, ask your maternal child health nurse at your next check-up or call Barwon Health Immunisation Service.
School vaccination
The immunisation service visits all secondary schools in the Geelong region. If having an immunisation in a school setting (or your adolescent is homeschooled) is not appropriate appointments can be made at one of our community centres. Information on the secondary school program can be found here.
Immunisation histories
Children born after 2003 can obtain their history from the Australian Immunisation Register or the MyGov website. For anyone born prior to this, we ask you to check the MyGov website for the history first. If this is incomplete, email Barwon Health Immunisation Service [email protected] with your name, date of birth, Medicare number, telephone number and address where you lived when you last accessed the service and we will contact you. For your health and safety, we ask you to read the pre-immunisation-checklist prior to immunisation.
Workplace vaccination
Barwon Health Immunisation Service offers workplace flu vaccination programs. Our flexible team can visit on a day and time that suits your business best. Our trained staff will attend your business, any staff who miss out on the day are then able to attend any of our sessions to receive their vaccines. The service charges by the vaccine.
