What is Cherry Creek Youth Justice Precinct?
Youth Justice Custodial Services aim to engage young people in change by addressing their offending behaviour and equipping them with the skills required for positive community participation, within a safe and secure environment.
Cherry Creek Youth Justice Centre is the brand new youth justice facility to the west of Werribee employing leading, fit-for-purpose design and construction across the 140 room facility. Scheduled to open in mid-2023, Cherry Creek will mostly accommodate young male offenders, aged 15 – 17 years, either on long-term remand and when sentenced. Supported by a team who will deliver best practice culture, processes and operations, Cherry Creek is set to drive better outcomes for young people and the community.
Primary Healthcare Service at Cherry Creek Youth Justice Centre
A young person’s time in custody presents an opportunity to provide comprehensive healthcare, address unmet needs and develop positive associations with health services. Our vision is for an accessible, person-centred, trauma-informed, integrated and comprehensive health service for Cherry Creek Youth Justice Centre.
We aim to provide a service that empowers young people to understand their healthcare, support them to make decisions and provide the best possible quality of care.
