Allied Health

The Allied Health team in the Clinical Education and Training Unit works with colleagues in Nursing and Medical Education and with key stakeholders in the Allied Health workforce to support and deliver learning opportunities for staff and students that foster interprofessional collaborative practice and enhance high quality care.

For new graduates, we offer a structured interprofessional Allied Health Graduate Program. The program is open to, and caters for, graduates and interns from any allied health therapy or science discipline. This program, comprising sessions run over a year, complements the discipline-specific orientation, onboarding and supervision available to new graduate staff. This program aims to support the transition from student to health professional for allied health staff in their first year of employment.

Each Allied Health discipline also offers a range of inservices and specific continuing professional development opportunities. Staff are also able to access Barwon Health-wide programs available through Clinical Education and Training, Workforce Directorate, Research Development Unit, clinical teams/services, or other areas of Barwon Health.
