Relocation Packages

We can provide relocation packages that include financial assistance, accommodation and specific registration guidance to help you through the process. The Victorian Government is assisting in this relocation support with a range of financial supports available. This includes offering international travel reimbursement to help with relocation costs of $13,000 for nurses and midwives who secure a role with Barwon Health. This is currently available for those that join the organisation by 31 December 2023.

Visa Sponsorship

Barwon Health will provide sponsorship for a variety of Visas that allow you to work full-time. The most commonly used visa for people coming to work here from overseas are 482 and 186. Find out more about Visas at the Department of Immigration.

Apply for AHPRA Registration

To work as a registered nurse or registered midwife in Australia you must be AHPRA (Australian Heath Practitioner Regulation Authority) registered or have started the registration process before we can consider your application.  For more information visit www.ahpra.gov.au

International Buddy Program

Barwon Health has developed an International Buddy Program designed to help international staff and their family’s transition smoothly into their new life in the Geelong region. Barwon Health buddies are valued and experienced employees who are volunteering to be a point of contact, provide advice, support, connections and help you understand the Australian culture. Their support will make the move a positive experience and help you settle into a new country and new culture successfully.
