Many patients need to see an anaesthetist prior to coming in for surgery. This may be due to the type of surgery you are having, the medications you take, or other health problems you have.
If your child is referred to the hip clinic by either GP, maternity ward, paediatrician or other hospital, there are a number of steps you should be aware of.

If you have an appointment to see the hospital doctor, it will be to ensure that all paperwork has been completed, consent signed, and any further tests arranged prior to the surgery.
