Former Victorian Member of Parliament The Hon Lisa Neville has been announced as the new Chair of the Barwon Health Board.
Ms Neville previously served as a director on the Board and briefly held the Board Chair position before her election as State Member for Bellarine in 2002.
Up until her retirement from Parliament last year, Ms Neville held ministerial roles in Mental Health, Aged Care, Emergency Services, Environment and Climate Change, and Police and Water.
The appointment will take effect from 1 July 2023, as Brian Cook ends his tenure in the role.
Two Board Directors are also stepping down, Jason Trethowan and Jennifer Williams.
Two new Board Directors have been appointed to the Barwon Health Board, Libby Mears and Shane Solomon. Both bring a wealth of experience to Barwon Health, Ms Mears for experience in local Government and Mr Solomon for his extensive background as a health leader with particular expertise in digital health. In addition to these new appointments, Professor Brendan Crotty has been appointed for an additional term as a Barwon Health Board Director.
