Gretta Volum Centre

The Gretta Volum Centre operates Monday to Friday and is a day surgery unit within University Hospital Geelong.

It has two operating theatres and one endoscopy procedure room.

Services are provided to patients undergoing a broad range of surgical and diagnostic procedures with specialties including, paediatric surgery, ophthalmology, general surgery, ECT, plastic surgery, urology, lithotripsy, ENT, endoscopy, pain management, cardio version and dental.

 "I’ve spent two years at Barwon Health, currently in the Gretta Volum Centre for day surgery and also working in the Youang Surgical Centre to upskill as an anaesthetic nurse. I knew this was the workplace for me when the graduate team put an incredible amount of effort and time in creating their webinars and responding to my many emails. The surgical teams and their education system have made it incredibly easy to become the nurse I am today, always supporting and encouraging further learning and upskilling within the department, as well as supporting me and many other nurses through post graduate degrees. I love being an anaesthetic nurse and knowing that even though the procedures we do are everyday procedures for the staff, they aren’t for our patients, and we have the opportunity to make someone’s day become just a little bit brighter.
