The Andrew Love Cancer Centre is a member of the Victoria Public Services RapidPlan Implementation Group, and are a lead site for the establishment of RapidPlan models for various Radiotherapy treatment sites.
The Victorian RapidPlan project is a State Government initiative to share experience and planning expertise to create a state-wide solution for best practice individualised radiotherapy plans.
RapidPlan software is a sophisticated knowledge-based radiotherapy planning tool. The software uses the “knowledge” of other previous excellent treatment plans and applies this experience to future individualised patient treatment plans.
An optimal radiotherapy plan ensures the area of interest receives an even dose coverage, while as much healthy tissue is spared.
Internationally and at the Andrew Love Cancer Centre this software has demonstrated that it can produce high quality radiation plan and treatment outcomes in a shorter timeframe.
