ICU Services

The ICU consultant group provides a central venous access service, inserting a variety of central venous lines in both inpatients and outpatients.

This service is provided three times a week, and offers long-term central catheters (both peripheral and central insertion), Hickman lines for chemotherapy and permanent vascular catheters for dialysis.

This service places about 450 tunnelled lines a year (inserted through the skin into a large vein).
