Sexual Health

Our sexual health is an important part of our wellbeing and contributes to healthy self-esteem, relationships and physical health.

This page is designed to be a one-stop resource for all things sexual health.

Sexual health is an integration of the physical, emotional, intellectual, social and cultural aspects of sexual being,

Good sexual health means making sure you have the knowledge, skills and ability to make informed sexual choices and acting responsibly to protect your health and the health
of others.

An important aspect of sexual health includes physical health and being free of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs).

Unsafe, unprotected or 'risky' sexual practice can cause great anxiety about potential STIs and we encourage people to get advice and testing if they are worried.

All questions and concerns about any aspect of sexual health are treated with confidentiality and respect.

Situated in the Outpatients Annexe (corner Bellerine and Lt Ryrie streets) at University Hospital Geelong, our Sexual Health drop-in clinic offers advice, management and resources covering all aspects of sexual health awareness for people of all ages, such as:

  • Sexual health screening and treatment
  • Contraception advice management and referral
  • Screening and management of blood-borne viruses
  • Support and referral for sexual dysfunctions.

Clinic times are 2 - 6.30pm Tuesdays. No appointment necessary. Haven't got your Medicare card? No problems, come and see us anyway! There are other options available in the community if you're unable to get to this clinic.

Adolescent sexual health services also exist within headspace clinics throughout the region, click here for a listing of hubs.
