Podiatry Services are available across a number of locations at Barwon Health.
The role of the podiatrist is to improve mobility and enhance the patient's independence. They do this through the prevention and management of foot problems and associated health challenges.
Good foot health is crucial to overall health and wellbeing.
Painful feet impact on your ability to get around and on maintaining your fitness levels, which impacts on health and wellbeing. In the case of some diseases such as diabetes, there is a big potential to affect your foot health from the many complications that arise.
At Barwon Health podiatry services are available at
- University Hospital Geelong, where services are focused on high risk foot treatment and management.
- McKellar Centre, where services are focused on supporting rehabilitation processes for clients.
- Community health centres, where services are focused on working with you to help manage your foot health.
- Aged care, where services are focused on high risk feet and injury prevention.
Services are prioritised and focused on specific areas around the programs based at the various sites.
