Occupational Therapy

We provide a range of services focused on people reaching their goals including restoring function, overcoming limitations, and promoting independence, wellbeing and productivity.

About us

The main focus of Occupational Therapists (OTs) is to enable clients to achieve maximum independence and safety in their activities of daily living. Barwon Health OTs look after clients of all ages and their services are provided in the hospital, rehabilitation centres, community health centres, aged care facilities and at home.

OTs may recommend and supply particular equipment, arrange modifications or provide education on techniques to make it easier and safer for clients and/or their carer to complete everyday tasks that are important to them.

The Barwon Health Occupational Therapy department also offers a specialised hand therapy service at University Hospital Geelong for clients following traumatic hand injuries or hand surgery.
