About Women's Clinics

The pregnancy choices clinic offers surgical abortion/termination up to 14 weeks gestation.

This is coordinated through the Choices clinic, staffed by doctors, sexual health nurses, and options counsellors.

The colposcopy clinic sees women who have had an abnormal cervical screening test result or unusual bleeding and symptoms.

The contraception clinic offers advice, consultation and treatment for complex contraceptive and sexual health requirements. All options are discussed confidentially and with sensitivity to individual needs.

The Early Pregnancy Assessment Service (EPAS) provides non-acute specialist clinic care for women who have pain and/or bleeding in the first trimester of pregnancy. Where possible, ultrasound scans are done within the clinic, though at times separate formal departmental ultrasounds at BMI are required.

The fast-track clinic is designed for patients requiring review for simple gynaecological conditions.

The general gynaecology clinic provides care for common gynaecology problems not covered by other specialty gynaecology clinics.

The gynaecological endocrine clinic is a multidisciplinary clinic that treats girls and women with endocrine and metabolic problems that may affect fertility, future fertility and reproductive health.

The high-risk gynaecology clinic reviews referrals for women with abnormalities on imaging (e.g., ultrasound) that require further review and management.

This clinic is for women experiencing early menopause, surgically induced menopause, complex menopause and transmen requiring consultation.

The pelvic pain clinic is a multidisciplinary clinic encompassing a holistic approach to pelvic pain and health, treating a variety of gynaecological issues including endometriosis, urinary incontinence and prolapse and heavy menstrual bleeding.

The perineal clinic is for women needing following up after sustaining complex perineal tears after childbirth.

The recurrent miscarriage clinic aims to identify the possible cause of the unsuccessful natural conception or repeated pregnancy losses and commence treatment appropriately.

The urogynaecology clinic sees women with complex pelvic floor dysfunction like recurrent prolapse and/or urinary or bowel symptoms.

The vulval dermatology clinic sees women experiencing dermatological conditions of the reproductive system.
