**You may find our system has changed since your last booking. In response to consumer feedback we have recently moved to a simpler online booking system for all immunisation appointments at Barwon Health.

Initially you will need to register your details and then add in your children or dependants who require immunisation.

Using this system you can:

  • Make individual appointments and see what community sessions are currently available
  • Book and manage individual or family appointments online
  • Provide digital consent during the booking process which reduces onsite administration at your appointment and reduces paper usage
  • Receive reminders to book future appointments when you or your child is due for their next vaccines
  • Pay online for paid immunisations

If you have trouble booking online please call 03 4215 4444.

  • Presently we still have stocks of the 2024 flu vaccine until 28/2/2025. After this time there will be no flu available until the 2025 vaccine is released. Appointments will not be available until stocks have been delivered. This page will be updated once that happens. Each month our nurses run immunisation clinics across Golden Plains. Influenza
The influenza vaccine is recommended and is free for every pregnancy and at any stage of your pregnancy. It is the best way to protect both you and your baby from influenza. Paid vaccines available for family and friends.

Whooping Cough
Pregnant women are eligible for a free whooping cough (pertussis) vaccine.

The whooping cough vaccine is recommended between 20 and 32 weeks of every pregnancy (although it can be given up to the time of delivery). It is the best way to protect your baby against whooping cough.

All parents or guardians should be vaccinated before the baby is born if they have not received a pertussis-containing booster in the past 10 years. Paid whooping cough vaccines are available for partners/friends and family.

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV)

The 2025 maternal RSV program commenced on 3 February. These are recommended for pregnant women at 28 to 36 weeks of pregnancy but can be given later . vaccination during pregnancy is the safest way for you to protect your baby against the RSV and serious complications.

The respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine is now available for eligible pregnant women under the National Immunisation Program.

The RSV maternal vaccine:
• is recommended between 28 to 36 weeks of pregnancy.
• is available for free if patients hold or are eligible for a Medicare card.
• protects newborn babies from birth and in their most vulnerable first few months of life against RSV and serious complications.
Getting a vaccine in pregnancy reduces the risk of severe RSV disease in infants less than 6 months of age by about 70%.
Eligible pregnant women can make a booking at Barwon Health’s Vaccination Centre in Belmont here or call 4215 4444 for any issues. You can also see your GP or participating pharmacies.

Please note babies are now due for their first vaccinations at 6 weeks of age. Please book an extended appointment (two consecutive timeslots) for your first visit. If you require further information prior to this, please ask your maternal child health nurse at your next check-up, or call us on 4215 4444 with any questions.

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) – via GP

Infants up to 8 months and children up to 2 years may be recommended to receive a single dose of the RSV immunisation:

  • if their mother did not receive the RSV vaccine during pregnancy or
  • they were born within 2 weeks of their mother receiving the RSV vaccine or
  • they or their mother have a condition that increases their risk of severe RSV

Barwon Health does not administer this vaccine. Please speak to your GP for further information.

The immunisation service visits all secondary schools in the Geelong region. If having an immunisation in a school setting is not appropriate, or if your adolescent is home-schooled, appointments can be made at one of our community centres. Information on the secondary school program can be found here.

Children born after 2003 can obtain their history from the Australian Immunisation Register or the MyGov website. For anyone born prior to this, we ask you to check the MyGov website for the history first. If this is incomplete, email Barwon Health Immunisation Service [email protected] with your name, date of birth, Medicare number, telephone number and address where you lived when you last accessed the service and we will contact you. For your health and safety, we ask you to read the pre-immunisation-checklist prior to immunisation.
