Clinical Trials Unit - Jo Chambers
My nursing career began on the wards and I moved to my current role at Barwon Health after completing a postgraduate certificate in Diabetes Education while on maternity leave with my first child.
I have now been involved in clinical trial research at Barwon Health for over 10 years, primarily in the area of Endocrinology & Diabetes and more recently Infectious Disease
I always had a keen interest in the education side of nursing, so my career naturally progressed toward a role in which I am able to spend time with individual people over a longer period of time.
Clinical Trials within the Diabetes area tend to run for at least 6-12 months, so it enables us to clearly plan out goals, while also giving people access to newer therapies.
