Cardiology - Kate Sanders
Background
I feel incredibly fortunate to have such an enjoyable and varied career – having had roles in:
- Alice Springs (paediatrics)
- Sessional lecturer/tutor/facilitator in the School of Nursing , Deakin University
- Graduate Support Nurse
- Acute Pain Team – Nurse Consultant
- Critical Care Nurse – ICU – Barwon Health
I am very proud to say that I am a long standing staff member in the Intensive Care Unit here at Barwon Health in conjunction with my current role as Study Coordinator in Clinical Trials.
Research Focus
For the past eight years I have worked on various clinical trials. My main focus has been with cardiovascular disease, obesity and prevention of T2DM.
I am currently thoroughly enjoying working with my outstanding study participants on a trial that involves a weekly injection. Many of these study participants have been on several trials within our unit and I have had a relationship with them for over eight years.
It is an absolute privilege to be part of their lives, to witness and facilitate their journey in health and clinical trials.
