Women of all ages and backgrounds can have their health questions answered on a wide range of topics at “Women’s Stuff,” a free event in Geelong on Wednesday, 16 May.

Jean Hailes for Women’s Health, one of Australia’s leading and most trusted women’s health organisations, will present this fun and informative community evening with support from Women’s Health and Wellbeing Barwon South West, Barwon Health, GMHBA and the City of Greater Geelong.

Women will have access to some of Australia’s most experienced clinicians and health professionals with the latest evidence-based health information. Topics covered include menopause, grocery shopping for good health and pelvic floor fitness.

The night’s sessions are:

1. At the heart (and bones) of it: Menopause 101, by Dr Sonia Davison, endocrinologist at Jean Hailes
2. Eat well, move well—food and movement as medicine, by Sandra Villella, naturopath at Jean Hailes
3. Women’s health checks, by Dr Kerryn Rae, specialist women’s health GP at Jean Hailes and Epworth Geelong
4. Your pelvic floor, by Naomi Nalder, physiotherapist at Barwon Health

“All women are encouraged to come along to hear about ways they can improve and manage their health from health professionals who are actively listening to women in the community about their health needs,” says Janet Michelmore AO, executive director of Jean Hailes. “Women will also be able to connect with local services on the night.”

The evening will be hosted by celebrated comedian Nelly Thomas and will include refreshments, resource packs, a mini health expo and giveaways. BreastScreen Victoria will be there for information and mammogram bookings. The event will take place from 6pm to 9pm in the Presidents Lounge at GMHBA Stadium, South Geelong. Entry at Gate 14, accessed via Kilgour St or Latrobe Terrace.
