Barwon Health Chief Executive Professor Ruth Salom has formally resigned from her position.
Board Chair Brian Cook has appointed Chief Financial Officer Cobus Lotheringen as acting CEO until a permanent replacement is found.
“We wish Professor Salom well with her future endeavours,” Mr Cook said.
“Barwon Health will now undertake a formal search for a new Chief Executive Officer, with our sights set on an exciting future made possible by the State Government’s commitment towards a new women’s and children’s hospital for Geelong and the Greater Barwon South West region,” he said.
“As we conduct a robust search for a new leader, Cobus Lotheringen, who has a long history in the health sector and who has helped turn around Barwon Health’s financial result through sound fiscal management, has been appointed acting CEO.”
“Cobus has been a strong and consistent advisor to the Board and is well respected by his colleagues; we look forward to working with him and the executive team further during this period of transition.”
