Careers in Health Work Experience Program
Barwon Health recognises the need to promote healthcare as a rewarding and exciting career choice to strengthen our workforce into the future. Work experience helps young people understand career options and related courses of study that they may wish to pursue.
Barwon Health is pleased to be partnering with Geelong Region Local Learning and Employment Network (GRLLEN) and Skilling the Bay to offer “World of Work: Health and Community Services” in 2022. This program will give students information about working in health and the opportunity to learn from Barwon Health staff about their roles.
The World of Work program is designed for secondary school students in Years 9 and 10 and has an emphasis on raising awareness of the diversity of careers (clinical and non-clinical) in the health and community services sector. Further information about the program is available through GRLLEN and school Careers Teachers.
Currently, we cannot accommodate traditional work experience placements due to factors including safety, privacy, confidentiality and capacity.
