Restorative Care Program – Wallington Homestead

The Restorative Care Program is based at the Homestead Wallington. This site provides transitional care for clients in a locked facility for up to 28 days. The Homestead provides fice Restorative Care & 15 Transitional Care beds for clients with cognitive impairment after an acute or subacute admission in Barwon Health. The companionship program provides clients with social and emotional support. It can assist clients to maintain their links with the community and social network.
This is a very rewarding volunteer role for the Wallington Homestead and requires the reliability and commitment of volunteers to support the Program. Sounding like a perfect volunteering role for you?
What the volunteer can expect: To assist staff prepare, implement and conclude selected activities chosen for or by the consumers.Provide small group and individual social support and recreational activities including arts/craft and music. Spend time one on one, sitting, walking or simply being with some of our consumers.
What the benefit to our consumers will be: The Restorative Care Program provides physical, functional, emotional, psychological, social and spiritual support to the consumer, carer and family.
