About the Barwon Early Parenting Centre
The Barwon Early Parenting Centre provides specialist support and deliver flexible, targeted services for families with children 0-4 years old.
The centre aims to enhance the parent-child relationship and support parents with strategies for achieving their parenting goals. These goals are often in areas such as sleep and settling, child behaviour, and parent and child health and wellbeing.
These goals are achieved through structured programs that vary from residential, day stay and in-home support. Programs include:
- psychosocial, physical and developmental assessments
- parenting education
- counselling
- skills development
- play-based activities
- modelling effective behaviours.
The Barwon Early Parenting Centre is located within the McKellar Centre precinct on Ballarat Road in North Geelong.

How will the BEPC benefit the Geelong community?
The Barwon Early Parenting Centre aims to provide specialist support to families within our region free of charge. Families with children aged 0 – 4 years will have access to services such as sleep settling support through to strength-based parenting programs. These services will be offered by a range of multidisciplinary clinicians. The flexible, targeted approach is going to enhance and enrich the attachment between children and their parents / caregivers, allowing families within Geelong and the region to achieve their parenting goals.
The aim is for the parents of Geelong to feel more supported and connected with their children so that their children can thrive!
What kind of team/culture are you looking to build?
The Early Parenting Centre is a team of multidisciplinary clinicians offering a wraparound service for the families of Geelong. The aim is for a positive team culture that fosters collaboration, and where values are aligned. The team fosters a strong understanding of the first 1000 days of the children’s life and implement supportive, caring and non-judgemental programs in a fun and relaxed way. Being passionate about improving the relationships of families in Geelong is going to be essential in building a nurturing and respectful team environment.
