The type of treatment you receive will depend on a number of factors including what type of cancer is being treated, what other illnesses or health problems you have, and what other treatments have been given in the past. There are a number of different treatments that can be used either alone or in combination to treat cancer. Chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery, hormonal therapy or immunotherapy are the most common forms of treatment. Your course of treatment is designed especially for you, and may be different to someone else being treated for a similar type of cancer. A range of allied health services are also available to you to help you manage your emotional, psychological and physical wellbeing after a cancer diagnosis.
