| Service Description: |
The focus is upon the education and training of staff in the provision of a shared care approach for clients with the Dual Diagnosis of a mental illness and a drug-related issue.
Central to the provision of enhanced comprehensive care for clients is the collaboration between Drug & Alcohol Services (DAS) and the Mental Health services (MH).
The service offers secondary consultations to all areas of Barwon Health MH/DAS (including psychiatric rehabilitation, community mental health teams).
As well as throughout the Barwon Region to private practitioners, community agencies, and generalist health and other service providers.
Clients would benefit most from having ongoing contact with a clinician or case manager.
Also offered is education and training focusing on
• Harm reduction
• Stages of change
• Motivational Interviewing
• Relapse Prevention
