The Gretta Volum Centre is a freestanding day surgery unit within the Geelong Hospital.

It has two operating theatres and one endoscopy procedure room. Services are provided for patients undergoing a broad range of surgical, diagnostic procedures, intravenous therapy, abdominal paracentesis, and CVC line insertions.

Specialties include Paediatric Surgery, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, ECT, Gynaecology, Plastic Surgery, Urology, Lithotripsy, ENT, Endoscopy, Pain Management, IVF treatment, Cardio version and Dental. We also provide admission and discharge services for patients undergoing surgery in main theatre and procedures in medical imaging.

Ward procedures performed in recovery include infusions – Intragam, Infliximab, Magnesium, Lignocaine, Iron, Abatecept, Tysabri, Blood transfusions, Allergy testing and Abdominal Paracentesis. Other procedures performed include CVC line insertion, lumbar punctures and testosterone implants.
