Newcomb Community Dental Services provides dental care to eligibe
Health Care and Pension Card holders and their dependents, including:
- Emergency dental care daily
- Conservative
dentistry including consultation, diagnosis and treatment planning.
Restorative, periodontics, endodontics, removable orthodontics.
- Oral surgery including simple extractions, surgical extractions, biopsies.
- General anaesthetics at Gretta Volum Centre, Geelong Hospital, for restorative and extractions for children and adults.
- Early Childhood Oral Health Program (ECOHP) for 0-5 year olds (includes non-card holders)
- Integrated School Dental Service for Primary School children (with/without HCC/PCC) and years 7 and 8 for HCC/PCC only.
- Youth Dental Program for secondary school children years 9-12.
- Health promotion - Smiles4Miles Program in collaboration with DHSV Oral Health Promotion Unit.
- Prosthodontics - full and partial dentures.
Waiting lists may apply for restorative (fillings) and prosthetic (denture) treatments.
Dental staff include dentists, dental therapists, dental
prosthetists, dental receptionists/assistants and an oral surgery
registrar.
The Community Dental Service also has clinics as the Belmont and
Corio Community Health Cetnres and the Wathaurong Aboriginal
Cooperative in Geelong North.
