Barwon Regional Aged Care Assessment Service

The role of the Aged Care Assessment Service is to comprehensively assess the needs of frail older people and facilitate access to available care services appropriate to their care needs. ACAS’s are the only agencies able to approve older people for Commonwealth Government funded residential care, residential respite, Community Aged Care Packages and Flexible care.

ACAS’s are available throughout Australia. The Barwon Regional Aged Care Assessment Service (BRACAS) covers the municipalities of City of Greater Geelong, Surf Coast Shire, Colac Otway Shire and Borough of Queenscliff.

Residential Aged Care

Residential Aged Care services include:

  • 108 Low Level Care (LLC) including Respite
  • 45 Aged Persons Mental Health (APMH) beds
  • 45 Complex Care (Dementia) beds and 216 High Level Care (HLC) beds.
