Streamlined Ethical Review
The streamlined system allows multi-site clinical trials in Victoria to undergo single ethical review by one of the reviewing HRECs accredited by the CCHRE. If you intend to act as Coordinating Principal Investigator (CPI) for a Victorian multi-site clinical trial, please visit the CCHRE website for details of how to apply.
Barwon Health provides governance oversight for all Barwon health sites, Geelong Private, St John of God Geelong, South West Health Care (Warnambool) and associated private physicians offices.

If you are the designated CPI please refer to the website for the Consultative Council for Human Research Ethics for application details.

Barwon Health Research Governance
Barwon Health is a participating organisation in the Victorian government initiative to provide single ethical review for multi-centre clinical trials. Currently this means that Barwon Health provides governance support for projects which have been approved by the 6 accredited Human Research Ethics Committees.
All sites must complete the Site Specific Assessment (SSA). Please refer to the website for the Consultative Council for Human Research Ethics for application details.
Applicants are requested to apply to Barwon Health using the “letters to the RGO”. Three templates have been provided: Pre HREC approval 1 and 2 and a Post HREC approval.
