CHOCOLATE INDULGENCE FOR A CAUSE
6/23/2008

A day of delicious decadence was held on May 30 to raise money for the Geelong Hospital Appeal.

The 2008 Hot Chocolate Day has raised over $15,000 to date with money continuing to be received.

Approximately 19 schools and 50 groups and businesses warmed up for the cause by holding their own hot chocolate gatherings. All got into the spirit of the day with some coming up with creative activities such as serving cold chocolate (chocolate milk) and having a casual dress day.

40 cafes from around the region, including Coffee by Design and the Wharf Shed Café, also got involved by donating the proceeds of their hot chocolate sales on the day.

A Hot Chocolate Day site in Little Malop Street brought chocolate fun to the city with Cats players Tom Lonergan and Brent Prismall along with Half Cat stopping in and passers-by enjoying real Baptista Belgian Hot Chocolate and Routley’s cakes and muffins for a gold coin donation.
