A selection of the region’s best wineries created an exclusive blend of their best red wine that was auctioned at the 2009 Geelong Wine Association Charity Barrel Auction Dinner, supporting the Geelong Hospital Appeal on Friday 6th November 2009.

The dinner featured MC Ian Cover, along with guest speaker and Wine Writer Paddy Kendler, (Herald Sun, Wine Outlaw).

Guests were be treated to a three course dinner at Barwon Edge Boathouse, matched to local wines along with wine trivia and activities and finishing with the wine auction. The dinner was the closing event for the 2009 Toast to the Coast Festival.

The focus of the evening was the auction of the special release red wine blend that showcased the amazing wine the Geelong region can produce.

Renowned International composer and flute player Howlin’ Wind also entertained guests on the evening.
