12/2/2009

Top Melbourne designers including Anna Campbell, Nana Judy, Jenny Banister, Indiana by Freda and Valerie Talosa showcased magnificent race-wear and pieces from their spring/summer collections to more than 250 guests on Sunday 4 October 2009, to raise money for Barwon Health’s Andrew Love Cancer Centre and Cancer Services.

The sun shone on the Chapman Welsh Financial Services Catwalk for Cancer event - a day filled with food, wine and fashion at Ernie Brown’s in central Geelong. The audience was entertained by celebrity appearances and entertainment, with Lauren Phillips as MC and Jade Russell, Runner-up Miss Universe Australia attending as guest judge and model.

The day was an opportunity to not only view race wear outfits and collections from top Melbourne labels and Westfield outlets, but to witness the finalists in the ‘Young Designer Awards’ compete for over $3000 worth of prizes donated by Westfield, Geelong.

Tickets included a drink card, canapés, and entry, with the first 200 guests receiving gift bags, filled with discounts and offers from many generous local businesses. Guests had the opportunity to win over $3000 worth of prizes sponsored by Westfield Geelong in a ‘Fashions on the Field’ event open to guests, and to buy a raffle ticket to be in the running for prizes worth close to $5000.

The day was a wonderful success and raised over $20,000. Volunteers, donors, sponsors and supporters all pulled together in a huge effort to pull off a great show.
