Gala Day Brings Top Children's Entertainment to Geelong

 

G-Force Gala Parade and Family Fun Day - 

Saturday November 22nd

 

The 92nd Gala Day is shaping up to be the most colourful and exciting yet with top children's entertainment signed up to join this year's fun!

 

Bob The Builder will headline the Family Fun Day's stage programme, with everybody's favourite builder set to perform two shows during the day.

 

Channel Ten's Rock It will also take to the stage, providing a performance jam packed with music and dance.

 

Local music act Sweethearts and kids performers The Workers and Active Kidz will gurantee that the kids will be entertained all day long.

The issue features a fantastic Gala Day special including Brooke's story on the front page. The eight year old has taken part in every parade for the past three years, marching at the front of the parade with the Emergency Department staff.

CANDLELIGHT REFLECTIONS FOR CANCER

In the twilight hours of Sunday 5th October, more than 200 lanterns lit up the waterfront at Eastern Beach for the PathCare Messages of Love event.

 

Following a moving reflection by the Barwon Health Cancer Services Chaplain Russell Armstrong, lanterns bearing inscriptions supporting cancer patients, remembering loved ones lost and celebrating survivors were released in a picturesque display of love and hope.

CHOCOLATE INDULGENCE FOR A CAUSE
A day of delicious decadence was held on May 30 to raise money for the Geelong Hospital Appeal.  The 2008 Hot Chocolate Day has raised over $15,000 to date with money continuing to be received. Approximately 19 schools and 50 groups and businesses warmed up for the cause by holding their own hot chocolate gatherings. All got into the spirit of the day with some coming up with creative activities such as serving cold chocolate (chocolate milk) and having a casual dress day.   more...
