Allied Health Education

Allied Health Education within Barwon Health consists of clinical education for students undertaking either undergraduate or post graduate training to obtain the allied health qualification; and ongoing professional development and education for qualified allied health professionals as they work in a wide range of areas within the organisation.

Allied Health Clinical Education Placements

Clinical education placements are conducted across the range of allied health disciplines within Barwon Health. Allied Health clinical education placements are co-ordinated through the Barwon Health Nursing Education & Training in the first instance and placement capacity and availability negotiated with the relevant Allied Health Chief of Discipline. Not all requests for clinical education placements can be accommodated.

Students from a number of universities from Victoria and interstate complete allied health clinical education placements at Barwon Health.

All students must have a satisfactory result on a current police check before they can commence their clinical education placement. Working with children checks will also be required in line with legislative changes. Police checks should be forwarded to the Nursing Education & Training department two weeks prior to the commencement of the clinical education placement.
